    5 stars for nice/friendly techs/employees and prompt service-- 1 star for pricing policy, value of work, charges. Fri., 10/27/23, I called PLUMBERSNEARME, from the BBB site, for plumbers. I had a broken supply line irrigation valve. **** answered the phone, very nice, a tech could arrive between 4 -7 pm to estimate. ******** arrived 30 minutes later. There was no charge for an estimate/trip. I got the estimate in an email Sat. for $2549 plus $34.99 "Service fee". Sat. noon. ******/partner showed up and by 2:30 that afternoon, the exposed failure in the ground was ready. No replacement valve, approx. $100 in value, could be found on Saturday. ******** and ****** were able cap the break, so we could have water to the house. ******/partner returned Monday 10/30 around noon, replaced the old valve and by 2pm, the hole was back filled and the job complete. ******** was also here for about the last hour. *********-up could have been more thorough. I thanked the men, tipped them all and paid by check $2583.99. There would have been an additional 3.5% charge if I used a credit card. Is this a good business practice? Was the price fair? Service Fee of $34.99? Why wasn't I offered a website promotion for a teacher(retired) or senior citizen? I qualify. Sure, there were plusses: we got our water back on, valve replaced, ****, ********, ****** and partner, all very nice. There is a three yr. warranty. I am disappointed in some of the business practice here. I feel the price was to high. Service fee? Credit card use? We needed the work done, we are appreciative, but also feel somewhat taken advantage of the charges. What do you do w/o water. How much shopping can you do? It is always nice to shop around for services/work to compare. Sometimes, that is not an option. Most likely, I would not use PLUMBERSNEARME again, even though they are on the BBB list. ************
